I think SWF Studio allows stuff like that, but I don't know of any way to do it in flash, unless the file was already online. Which gives me an idea, actually: have flash pop up a new window with an HTML form that uploads a file, then send the file's URL to Flash.

A complete explanation of how to write an upload script in PHP and HTML. Note that this only seems to work on UNIX systems, so you probably won't be able to test it on your own computer. And if you don't know PHP yet, don't even bother with something like this until you've learned the basics.

It is possible, some people use the js click() on a hidden file form but it only works on IE so I did some research.

Then I found the yamago upload component. Using its principles I created a skinned browse button which sent the path back to flash, it works on pc/mac, pretty much every browser but opera. It was for a study I was doing into the browse button and possible skinning of it. I compared different skinning options by platform and browser.

Compatible: PC Windows with Mozilla 1.2+, IE5+, NN7+, Phoenix beta 5 Mac with Mozilla 1.2+, IE5+, NN6+, Chimera 1+, Camino

mp3player +mp3 button or the player itself? does it show the mp3 name where it had Song Title(0:00) before? did the browse dialogue pop up when you pressed the mp3player +mp3 button?

Thx for testing it. Apparently it still has a few bugs
