Getting XML data into textfields

I'm trying to wrap my head around xml in flash and need to request some help.

I would like to load a simple xml file into flash and fill a text field with any item from that file. I've looked at tutorials but found nothing quite so simple. I'm sure I'm missing something quite easy, but could use a bit of help.

Loading the xml seems to be the same throughout the tutorials, but the methods for extracting the info varies. I would be thankful if someone could post a bit of script to help me on my way.

When I am done I will post the results (fla) so that others in my position can view it.
