flash in an html email
I am making a html email for a company and I was wondering... if it was even possible to put flash into a html email. So if anyone knows please tell.
cheers,

you again.... i emailed you back btw...
ive never tried that, but i guess you could that, in the html email just link to the swf thats somewhere on ur webserver, and it should play...but then again, most free webspace companies probly wouldnt allow that, and an email program is no browser, so it mite not recognize it, maybe if it were html mail like hotmail it would?...just test it on urself..upload an swf file and then send urself an html email with the flash object embeded in it and an absolute link to the location....

i have my own web server, and tried to make one but it didn't work. Have you seen any tutorials or any way to figure out how to accomplish this?
cheers,

nope sorry, but i thot about it some more....email programs dont have the flashplayer plugin installed, only browsers....so it shouldnt work.
u could only send a link in an email (maybe make it all pretty with nice graphics and all) and link to ur published movie.
other than that, i dont know, sorry.

Here's a couple of tutorials on our site. We do this a lot for clients such as Drugstore.com, Expedia, IBM, ViewSonic and so on.

It is not easy and you need 3rd-party tools to deliver alternate content in most cases to do it correctly for Client-Email Marketing purposes.
99% of it is the email client and not the coding...sorry.
Good luck...

Still will not show in most web-based systems... should work for Outlook/OE systems that have not been dialed too high on the security.
Also, watch out using any scripting to embed...stick to the basics.
