I threw an object listing in a textbox which... you can mouse wheel in, here:
    http://userpages.umbc.edu/~tmccau1/flash/listall.html

this, btw, will list out MX objects if in the MX player - the Flash player 7 would be needed to see the objects within it.

does that work? when I scroll with the mouse wheel the whole page srcolls, not just the SWF. Or did I miss the point!?

I've heard that Macromedia is abandoning AMF and remoting in favor of Flash player running native SOAP for better performance. Any word on this in Flash Player 7 ? ...can't find any detailed resource for features etc.

    Hi,

when FP6 linux was released, I recall a statement from Macromedia that for the first time there were identical versions for win, mac and linux. It is a pity they have abandoned that principle - and a hope the delay before releasing the linux player will be much shorter than for FP6.

I agree with Musicman. It'd be an awesome thing to see all three versions released at the same time.

So far, I've found that my Wacom tablet mouse-wheel doesn't work (Mac, OSX). I'm not surpised though, since the wheel doesn't work in the Flash IDE either. It works in browsers and most other apps, but not in Flash or any flash content.

On top of the above, I'd just like to say to Macromedia... please, please, please try to make sure that all new features work on all platforms. I use flash almost solely for one reason... so that I can work on the mac, and publish content that will play/function the same on all platforms that support flash. Once we start adding win-only features and it becomes accepted, I'm going to have to start looking for a different medium.

Wow. I didn't realize the Mac side was that slow.
Good to know for cross dev projects. "Think Slower."

I work as a multimedia developer for a company in Ireland, and both myself and my colleague have been using Flash for years and have begun compiling a list detailing problems and shortcomings in the existing authoring environment and within actionscript, plus a list of features that we think would make sense to implement in future versions of Flash. How would we go about getting this information to the developers or at least briging it to their attention. Most of them are just really common sense additions which would make any developers life easier and in our opinion be welcome improvements to the application. Anyone know any point of contact?

Does anyone know if F7 will give us a bit more security? By that I mean a built in method to hide or encode our code - or access it without a complicated server-sider process.

There is nothing worse than having your code directly accessable to anyone with a decompiler - and seeing your code show up on some Flash forum.

I'm guessing no. I think something like that would require a rewrite of both the player and compiler.

    Something I Wish

One thing i wish they would add to the flash player 7 plugin is that when you go to a site and it asks you for a webcam and audio and you intellgently click "No" it would save what you clicked.

There is a "remember" checkbox in there I think. The problem is that it doesn't show when the dialog is prompted by the flash file, but does show up if you right-click and choose "settings", then click the first tab on the left in the dialog.

it would be cool if they changed the dialog though to have this feature on the part you're talking about.

What do you mean by stable? Are you having problems with your existing content using the current beta?
