very very important, soution needed urgently
ive got a problem which may or may not involve using flash, but whatever the soultion is i need to know it!! i have a large selection of photographs from an event which i held. each person in the event had a number. each person ahd several photographs taken of them. ineed to make it possible so that people enter there number in a text field within my flash webpage and they will then be taken to a page containing there photographs. If you can think of any way to do this please tell me, it relly is important.

I'm no expert but it sounds like a tricky one, if you had just taken one pic then you could have just named each pic the number you gave each person and then had an input text box and linked that to a variable and then just loaded the pic into a MC
PicNo = 0
btn.onPress = function(){
loadMovie("pic" + PicNo + "jpg", "imageHolder")
}
But now I think your gonna have to create seperate swf's for each number you gave out and then load them in using the above and put the several pics taken of each person into these swfs.
Or you could just put each group of pics onto a corresponding keyframe to the number you gave out and then just use
PicNo = 0
btn.onPress = function(){
gotoAndStop(PicNo)
}
does this help??

No!
It depends on how many people have these numbers.
if it's only a few then little switch statement would work with a submit button and a textfield
code:
submit.onRelease = function(){
var id = Number(myTextfield.text);
switch(id){
case 1:
getURL("person1.html");
break;
case 2:
getURL("person2.html");
break;
case 3:
getURL("person3.html");
break;
default:
getURL("Error.html");
break;
}
}
or, if your using numbers in the names of html files
code:
submit.onRelease = function(){
getURL("person" + myTextfield.text + ".html");
}
}
but if there are a lot of people with random numbers and html file names you might want to use a database with php or some other scripting language.
