    Sending an email from Flash MX

    Has anyone been success in sending an email from within Flash MX? I am trying to launch the email client & being able to add a subject & body information. I have been trying all kinds of combinations with no luck

    Also, I have an input box labeled recipient so when I launch the mail client I want the recipient email address to automatically appear in the To line.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    It's easy to launch the e-mail client from flash. Put this on a button:

    on (release) {
    getURL("mailto:you@youraddress.com?cc=mack@hisaddy .com&subject=Hey what's up&body=Give me a ring", "_self");
    }

    This will add any address you put in it, a CC address, fill in the subject line and some in the body. Just remvoe what you don't want from the line.

    I think to fill in the to address from a input box, you need some script on the server. You might look in the Movies link at the top of this page for some downloads. There are plenty to choose from.

    Oh my. I told you wrong. I just figured it out in another thread.

    on (release) {
    getURL("mailto:"+[_root.recipient.text]+"?subject=For more information&body=Give me a ring", "_self");
    }

    And no "_self" needed in there also!

    For the record, this would be my 8800th post. Only 1200 to go!
