I need to pick your brains over a few design ideas...
I've recently made over markp.com and for quickness I just dropped in a very simple swf, that loads a bit of HTMLtext.
Lovely, but now I'd like to make it a bit sexier... something dynamic with lots of flashy bits, but still in fitting with the design of the site and with a very simple functionality.
So, what do you suggest? Can you point me to some cool links you've found, maybe a style you think I could emulate, or maybe your some PS genius that can come up with something amazing?
I dunno, I'm just a bit stuck for ideas and need you lot to help me out
I've attached a photo of the site, rather than having the whole of flashkit visit my site and killing my monthly bandwith allowance!
Okay, here's the lowdown. Seeing as how you like girls so much...and flash...and things that are eye catching...
I'm thinking something that is a combination of masking over the photo, something that slowly reveals parts of the photo. EX: A mask only reveals the hair, almost strand by strand, so you have only hair and it's outline around the face.
Then, reveal the face in some way. You could do this with line art, illustration like, then blend into a photo. There's alot of ads like that lately in print and on tv.
You follow me?
Where you get certain angles out of the hair, curves of it, extend this as some type of graphic on the edges of the window.
I need to get MX because from the stuff I've seen there are so many cool things you can do with masks and MC's. I could imagine a photo of a girl revealing the hair like I described above, slowly reveal the face with an alpha fade or something, then another masked MC of a sun setting on a beach, then fade the hair according to the beaches lighting.
A ton of things you can do. You seeing it?
For all that creative direction, please send me a completely dynamic image/photo loading setup in Flash that only has to be updated in a database. then we're good

BTW, got a new guitar coming tomorrow, got a Telecaster standard, left handed of course, midnight wine body, maple neck. Finally bought one. Decided against an Epiphone Casino because they were so backordered, and I decided I needed a new main electric to take over the old Strat I got in 92, which is still good but needs work on the electronics.
I bought the guitar, a new case, and a Boss pedal tuner, same look as all their other floor pedals, with the pedal serving as a bypass for silent tuning. I also bought a power supply for all my effects pedals that connects them to one power source instead of having a silly adapter for every pedal. It's gonna be great.
The Standard Telecaster is made in Mexico, and of course much cheaper than the $850US US made guitar. But I read alot of reviews, and people actually like the Mexican made guitar more than the US, it's much better for the money. Later I might buy Noiseless pickups, they have those in a combo with a stacked humbucker in the bridge.
However...I'm leaving for Texas today and won't see it until I get back. Then I have to take it and get it set up, I keep my electrics tuned to F mostly, I like singing better to F than E. So gotta get the intonation right. What stress.
My band is finally making an effort at getting things going. I'm working on 6-10 songs right now to get finished by end of September so we can start looking for a drummer. Hopefully start getting shows by January. Been waiting a long time to get this going. Started writing alot of bass lines for songs, which is fun, never really done that before.
Did you check out the MR8 8 track?
Anyhow, I'll be out of town but my mom has DSL so I'll see what you think of the site idea.
finally, I saw Radiohead up in Wisconsin last weekend. AMAZING. just incredible.
well i assume if it was some sort of photo shoot, and from the looks of it, it looks like a controlled photoshoot the background would be white or at least a solid color.
