Thread: Aversion! (or any other guitar player)

Aversion! (or any other guitar player)

I'm trying to figure out the chords that repeat throughout the song "In Thee" by Blue Oyster Cult. For the life of me I can't figure them out. It starts with I believe an A, then A suspended type thing - but I can't get too far with it. Can anyone help me out?

Find a way to hear it then!

It's actually a good song, and they're a good band - check out the cd "Don't Fear the Reaper"

Well if you could tell me the bass notes for it, that would help.

Got it! Here's a link to the sample of the song from Amazon.com, Aversion. About 4 seconds in the main chord progression starts. There's bass and guitar - if you could hear/figure out those guitar chords that'd be great! (link to sample, if that doesn't work go here, and scroll down until you see the link for "In Thee"). Thanks!

I could figure it out, but I'd have to draw the finger diagrams for the chords - I know nada about transcribing music.

And Agents of Fortune is the best BOC album by far.

I was searching for the music, and found hocky asking people in other forums for help as well.

Cross-posting on the internet is considered...

    OK, so it's not spam...

Hey, I found this. It's not In Thee, but maybe you can figure out Don't Fear the Reaper.

Hopefully you (or anyone) don't need the music for Godzilla.

Could you possibly tell me the chord names?

Ironic how I get more posts on a Flash web design message board then in a forum specifically for guitar tablature. One would think otherwise...

As a matter of fact, at the time I posted at Musicians Forums, I just liked the song. But I introduced it to my band, and one of the lady friends heard it as well..she wants me to play it at our next gig (a few weeks from now), so in a way, you're right.

Hope someone can help me out, maybe aversion once he hears it...

    Multi-talented crowd, us Flashers.

I can't tell you the chord names, but from my diagrams, I'm sure you could figure 'em out.

If that sounds like a plan, I can have a go tomorrow at figuring it out - I have to actually do some work stuff for the rest of today.

No, I'm sure I'd be able to read the diagrams no problem - I just feel bad if it's very time consuming for you. If not though, I'd appreciate it.

One of these days (prolly tomorrow) I'll haul my amp upstairs and record something. I'm getting pretty good at percussive slapping now (the stuff P-Nut, Stu Hamm and Les Claypool does).
