    2 Newbie ?s for you.

    Hello,
    Please help me b/c I have no idea what i'm doing!

    1. How do I cause the fonts that I use to show up on others computers?

    2. How use a sound loop and cause it to start soft them at the end go soft again, but during the middle keep looping regularly?

    Help me!!!

    I can help with Q1, but I dont use sound, so I dont know Q2- although there is limited sound editing available with the sound object( look in Flash help)

    So Q1: Either use device fonts- like arial, verdana, times, etc the common ones that are installed on almost every machine, or writ eout your text, and embed the fonts.

    Assuming MX- but the same theory for f5:
    To do this, click on the text box, then open the properties panel. Make sure the text is dynamic, on the left hand side, and then click the tab named character onthe right hand side. It will give you the option to embed.
    It is best to only embed the letters that you are actually using only, otherwise you will get the whole font embedded in your .swf, andthat will add to file size.

    Now publish, and test it on a machine that does not have the font.

    An alternative method is to break the text apart, into paths( modify-->break apart ( twice)).

    This is only appropriate when the text size is large, and when you have only a small amount of it- all those extra vectors will add to file size.
