    Dude, check this out.

    Don't bother with Flash-based sniffers. As you say, they're only any good if the user simply has to upgrade their player.

    If you want to alert a user to get, update or continue, use the Moock script, at the following:

    I've grown bored of splash pages. Just cut to the stuff the user wants to see - isn't that one of the rules of web design?

    I use a Flash sniffer in my work - that way, no ugly splash page to slow 'em down.
