    Free T-shirt For Constructive Comments

    Hi,

Posted this site a week or so ago and didn't get much feedback, the site is now 'live' and I want to know what you guys think about it, especially the game on the front end, the keyboard interaction (pressing the first letter of the menu title takes you there directly) and whether the animations run slow on your machines.

I also need to know whether the shopping cart system works, when you click add to cart due you get a continue shopping button appear next to checkout.

What do you think of the overall design???

Oh the free T-shirt, yes, umm well enter the competition (click WIN) and shove your details in, this site is BRAND NEW and hasn't been promoted yet so there's an excellent chance!! (sorry about the mild deception!)

Great site... fun as hell! Awesome transitions with the ball rolling through the roller-coster to the next section. Everything loaded well that I looked through (including accessories). I didnt see the need for the bottom portion of the screen to be seperated from the top though, not sure you need that much space for that little bit of a navigation. Besides that the look and feel fit the title and style was all congruent.
    nice work.

    Thanks

Thanks steveguberman, The reason the space at the bottom is so large is that it is used for the purchase of goods through the pay pal system (the Flash components are still in developent), also it is going to be used for banner adverts in the future to increase the sites exposure. thanks for the thumbs up!!

ghost_flash I'm worried that it doesn't work on your machine, it has been tested on OSX on a new imac (by a friend) and it worked fine on his system, although he was running explorer. Are you running a pop up blocker (this 'shouldn't' stop it but it might!). The flash entry system calls up a javascript function to open up the main page, maybe thats where the problem lies, if anyone has a suggestion to fix this please let me know!!

you can access the site directly at http://www.gadgetproductions.com/plan8.html but the sizing of the window may end up being too large (I kept the size of the pop-up window to just fit an 800X600 screen without location bar or tools etc.)...

Oops sorry ghost didn't read your reply properly! Never heard of Safari!! I'm getting a mac within the next month or two for testing purposes so I'll make sure I get hold of that one for testing (is it a popular browser???)

I'm worried about the shopping cart system as already explained Paypal doesn't support flash so the View Cart and Add to cart functions should appear below in an html frame (eventually!) clicking the add to cart button will then open up another window with the pay pal system... a convoluted and awkward solution... if anyone has experience in any of these things or has any ideas how I can improve it let me know...

I will have a word with my client about xxl sizes they have always been very popular, and I will try and get him to stock them.

BTW the shop in Notting Hill is fantastic if you are passing give them a visit. The T-shirts are top quality and look great!

I went to a club a few weeks ago and saw someone wearing one, I got so excited (I was a little drunk!) I went over and started slapping him on the back and congratulating him on his fine choice in clothing (I think he thought I was insane!!!)

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for your comments, I did know that you could add a BUY NOW pay-pal button in Flash, but the shopping cart element was essential as postage and packing costs are calculated on the total order, in fact I have been in contact with the developers who are working with Pay Pal on a solution to this problem... so we will have to wait and see! As far as I know Pay Pal is one of the easiest and most reliable systems for e-commerse so a Flash cart would be a HUGE bonus...

As far as the free t-shirt goes read the small print in the original post (about entering the competition) as a matter of interest no-one has entered yet so as I said the chances of winning are excellent!! (get over three thousand in the game on the front end for a double entry)... If you feel this was a deception to try and get favourable reviews... your absolutely right, put FLASHKIT REVIEWER in the address section (as well as your address) and I'll make sure you get an additional entry too (can't say fairer than that!)

Oh and that applies to anyone posting a comment BTW just add FLASHKIT REVIEWER to the address section of your entry as well as your address for an extra entry! I might use comments in a reviews section for the website if thats OK

    I have one for you.
I don't like deception, even mild one's, as they leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Well as I said no-one's entered the competition yet and you should always read the small print! Besides I mentioned the 'conditions' in the original post, before anyone wrote a reply... apologies for the bad taste tho!

    Phew....

Thanks to the moderator or whoever changed the title to include the competition clause I was hoping for comments about the site not an argument!! There are no more free t-shirts as such, just enter the competition as explained, to my knowledge no-one has entered yet!!

Any more comments about the site would be helpful I will ignore comments about T-shirts from now on! lol

I entered when I posted (first btw) so there is one, not that I expect to win even if I were the only entry.
