new portfolio - please check!
hi people
i have my new portfolio site online, please could you all check it!
there is no audio on as yet, im still not sure what will be done for that, i have left the site quite minimal as i dig the minmal thing and i want the emphasis on my work, so i have avoided having too much 'flashy' flash, if you know what i mean.....there is also no splash page at the moment, still undecided about that...

there is still some work to be put up on there but any comments, expecially about the navigation, load times and finally the content would be much appreciated
cheers!
fink - the sequel!

Re: new portfolio - please check!
I like the whole concept, runs very smoothly and loads fast on my adsl connection. Exception is photo, but that's expected. One suggestion is that you could put the actual thumbnails into the nav pannel replacing the X as otherwise it's difficult to know where you've been. My 2c worth!.

hmm i really dig this site, real nice. although the lack of colour isn't a big thing, it would be nice to see some subtle pastels on rollover of the buttons. Not essential by any means - purely preference.
Besides that, there is only one thing I didnt love about it - those X squares. Having to rollover it to see just a sneak preview isnt enough. I would take out the crosses and put in a small teaser image if I were you.
thats it! nice work!

oh, sorry didnt see the above post...much the same though!
great minds

cheers guys,
i know what you mean about the buttons, i might do a rollover that stays in the roll over position when you are looking at that bit of artwork...i really like my little buttons!
also @ bvgroote - i try to avoid pastels as best i can, the black and white theme is deliberate as i want the artwork to be center stage, tho i might have an orange on the roll over, but no pastel colours!
cheers again for the comments

A Jamaican in Flash world
hmmm
The concept and the idea is good.. and the site loads fast.
But you need to make the images a bit larger so for someone like me who looking at details can actually see what the image is about..
Anything the mind can think, you can make it into a reality.

yeah orange would be nice, I just thought something more subtle might do the trick. Looks good

..im not going to make the images any bigger, i realise some of the pieces on the site are very detailed but the working area I am working on is large enough for me and the screen resoloution I am working to. the purpose of a portfolio site like this is to give perspective clients an overview of what i can do, I have a physical portfolio that my illustration agent has that also goes out to clients when they want to see more, so i see the site as a taster really.
I have had to make some concessions rgarding image size but I reckon I am happy with the image size in general.
thaks for the comments tho, keep them coming! i definitly will be loking at tweaking the navigation a bit and if anyone else thinks some of the images should be larger than i might do something about that...
cheers - fink

nice
I like your site a lot. I think it could use a little sound though. I love your nav. Works great. I agree with the rollovers on the boxes. A preview wouldn't hurt.
Good Job!

it's very minimalist. that's cool though, it does focus on the work but the x-boxes have got to go. they remind me of "image couldn't load" type of thing.

yers...cheers for the feedback, looks like i might be changing my buttons then, i really dig them as well....oh well, i'll just have to deal with it and move on.......
@ Bungeetounge - im hopefully getting some electronic music maddness for the site off my mate whos a bit of a star when it comes to that sort of thing, so there will be audio on there eventually.
any more comments on the site would be great,
fink
