    protecting your work

    hi all!
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to protect your swf files on a CD?
Im producing a CD ROM for this big company and they need to know that no-one can copy the materials they are using!!

    ANY IDEA???

You can check off 'protect from import' on the publish settings dialog box.

If your swf's are played using loadMovie, you can place a token variable in your _level0 movie, and have each swf check for it before it begins playing. If it's not found, the movie won't play.

Another trick I do when deploying a proejctor, is to make all the externally loaded swf's a differnt file extension. (topic.a1 topic.a2, etc). They'll still run fine, but the less technically inclined will think you're using some 'special program' or something.

I'm not aware of any way to completely protect flash content. There are a variety of software packages available that can rip content from .swf files - even protected ones.
