    Edit a Mac generated FLA?

    When I send a pc created fla to my Mac user frien he has no problem opening it and editing it and so forth. However when he sends me one no such luck. I heard something about software to " strip the mac header " Any thoughts?

    Well from what i no its easy and ive done it in the past.

    Right click on the fla file from the mac and choose open with (if using XP) and then just choose flash and it will open.

    If that dont work right click the file and change its name to FLANAME.fla so in other words ur just adding the .fla extension to the end of the file and then it should open without any probs.

    Just to be safe though copy the file before doing this.

    at the commandprompt:
    mcaldwelva: first you have to do dir /x to get the 8.3 file name (debug is a 16 bit app)
    ironmallet: that's why it said file not found
    mcaldwel: debug jimmyv~1.fla
    mcaldwel: rcx
    mcaldwel: subtract 80 from the current value, and enter that (E600)
    mcaldwel: w 180
    mcaldwel: q

    this worked and it's not to hard.
