Has the old legend been reborn?

How long ago was it? It's been at least 4 years right?

wow how u land across this, its been ages!!!
finally, well i loved the transisitons with the arms and lighting effect, the rollovers were pretty weak, but overall ncie and simple. wish there could of been a intro like that of the old.

I love the concept, but the execution was extremely weak imo. The graphics could've been better (the arms, the lightning transitions, etc), and the use of vector wasn't done in a way that it fits what they're trying to show. Gotta love that intro opening though. Too bad, I was gonna do a rain/ripple fx for my logo, guess I'll have to change that, oh well, good thing I hadn't started on it.

intro was awesome. site felt...i dunno, just something i wasn't loving about it. the vector things were cool, but those sparks and lightening things seemed almost chessy...the style is pretty unique, decorative meets industrial mechanics..

its a nice site for sure..but as a "lengerdary revival" not really feelin it.

The site had a really nice atmosphere, the logo intro was great, the arms were great but that is about it.

The content was very week. I was expecting something amazing.

Mhm. I've, like many people out there, have
been waiting for the release of the new
gabocorp for some time now. It was a
legend back in the old days of Flash. But
this release just doesn't provide the
punch that I had expected. I wonder what
Gabo was doing over the past three or four years...

More then this was expected by fans of the old gabocorp.

This new site is dissappointing. Perhaps their inbox was overflooded with inquiries as to when the new site would arrive so they decided to just throw something up so we'd not ask.

I had given up hope in seeing this site launch. Graphically the site is good, but it lacks content and its representation. I loved the vector sparks bounching here and there. PHAT!

Same here, maybe someone should ask him? As for the site, I agree it doesn't have mutch content and representation. But I don't mind, it's gabocorp! That site (and some others) convinced me to go into flash design.

Btw - Sheldon, I like your V2 coming soon splashpage (http://www.p3rpl3xity.com) the techy style looks cool!

I loved their old site, it was one of the main reasons I got into Flash. Compared to what's out there now this isn't too strong. It has a nice atmosphere and and okay look with cool music.

    I expected way more.

actually if you were to read this thread you would see that slayerment has written it himself under his name by the avatar.
he was just posting a random comment.
happens on flashkit in almost every thread.

as for the site i think its poorly exacuted... it could have been so much better, and if this is the final release then i think its poor.

so much work seems to have gone into a beuatiful intro and mechanical arms... then there is suddenly a burst of cheap n cheesy lightning effects etc...

    strange.

I remember seeing the Gabocorp site early in 1999 and being really impressed. I definitely would have expected something more impressive than this. I remember the old style being really clean and more contemporary with a unique navigation that drilled down through different rotating cogs.

Anyway, I'm overall disappointed in the new site.

Thanks for posting it though. It's cool to think back to some of those first 'cool' flash sites that caught everyone's attention.

Anybody know of any others like GaboCorp?
