    Flash as a background image!!

    HEy all,

Anyone know if its possible to have a flash animation
    playing as a background image?

and if so is it stable and how is it done?

It would be so awsome to have!

    Anyone got any comments?

Only if you export the flash as an animated Gif, then set that as the background image.

Flash is at the very top of the z-index of an HTML page, you cannot put anything above it.

    Hi,
I guess you could put everything in <div> tags with the flash movie
    at the bottom z index.

Thanks M Waqas for your helpfull and informative lesson.

I do not think the <div> method will work either, the Flash content seems to assume the highest possible z-index.

I havn't tried much wmode=transparent as it does not work for all (outdated) browsers, but I guess that would be an avenue to explore

There are special programms for that.
    Try the
    FlashCandy and SWF Desktop.
These programms turn your .swf into a desktop background. You can even have buttons.

if you are talking about using flash as wallpaper??? is really simple and i have done that, without using any programe...

You can simple add a flash movie to an HTML Page, goto desktop properties and slect that HTML Page.. and that flash movie will play the way it plays in that page... its very simple, how ever, i dont know about that adding flash as Page Backgroud, and i am sure its not possible

We are working on several and one for brettfavre.com

This is our first one which is not much to look at but it was our first prototype with this new swf desktop tool.
