all in 1 mc or more mc's?

I'm working on a platform engine, But would it be best to put all my different char animations in different MC's or should I put everyting in 1 mc? I think the first would be best but If I copy the mc, ut give it a different instante name the changes also apply for the original mc :S

I dont think there is one and only answer, sometimes its better to keep everything in one mc, sometimes you should have all separated.

If you had question in the end about instance names, then Im sorry, but I didnt understand it

well, I got alot of different animations for my character but they all are the same for a big part. Since I dont want to redraw every mc I copy the mc but give it a different name. But the problem is that if I change something in the copied mc the changes also appy to the other mc. So instead of having 2 different mc's I get 2 mc's that are the same.

Duplicate the movie clip in the library, and then you can edit them seperately.
