    alpha channels with QT6.4-Macintosh

Does anyone know how to save QT6.4 movies with alpha channels that were created with wildform pro/Flash?
I used to do this in a very simple way back with QT5, but now I only get a full white layer in the alpha channel and no transparency of the background no matter what codec I use... and I've tried all that support Millions+ colors.

    Thanks

    Hi.
It looks like there is a bug in the latest versions of Quicktime on the Mac that is causing the alpha channel not to work properly. For some reason the Windows version is working fine.
We are investigating this further and we have contacted Apple as well.
This issue also seems to affect QT Pro.

    Thanks.
I thought so, because I've rendered animation frames from other programs, that do not reside in QT to save the files, and althought I load them in QT, the original alpha is left intact.
I was hoping that WFX could save the files without QT and the problem would be gone... somewhat.
If you find anything else regarding this issue, I would thank you to keep me informed.
    Regards. Edgar

    QT alpha channel missing

    Hi there,
Just wondering whether this problem with QT has been resolved yet. Is not do you know of anyway around the problem.

Created these QT exports a year ago and now they dont work with their alpha channels.

Would it solve the problem if i went back an installed an older version of QT?

    Many thanks.

We are still waiting for them to fix this.
It's very strange that it works fine for QT for Windows, but not for Mac.
If you can install an older version of QT that would work.

    Previous QT versions

    Gday Jonathan,
Cant seem to find any previous versions of QT anywhere. Are they still around for download?
Thanks for getting back to me.

Not that I'm aware of, though you may find some if you google and look for cached pages.
If you install QT on OS9 they still use an earlier player that works correctly.
