cartoonfox - art by cai cardenas
hi. its been along time since i last posted on this site! too long.
anyway, to get straight to the point, i decided to re-do my website, which used to be known as "cartoonfox-design"
some of you may remember it.
i've been on and off, adding small things. and decided, as its nearly finished, why not post here to get a few crits. as i havent shown anyone this in a while.
a few things i'm thinking of changing for the next update:
the buttons are at the moment, a pastel colour of the background colour. i'm thinking of changing this, but would require 5 different sets of the button menu, which would get complecated and take a long time. at the moment i'm just using the movieclip colour changer.
and the music, get rid of it, change it or keep it? i'm not sure, some advice would be great.
anyway, check it out if you have a minute.

thanks.

After looking at your sketches I am wondering why you don't sketch the whole website and put it together in flash. You have amazing stuff in there. Since this is your site, show your work off more through the site not just the portfolio.

The Prophecy...
like the logo... the site isn't quite my style, but it works fine for me...

hi.
thanks for your comments.
i made the original site back before i started drawing concept art type stuff. way back in july i think was when i started the site.
so when i started the concept art, i didnt want to change the site to an "art" based site because of all the hard work i put into it .
i guess i have to do a new site soon, huh? i think i'll keep it for bit longer.
at least i can put this into my portfolio.
thanks again.

If you have the time, you should definitely have a go at sketching the whole site as redskillet suggested. Your concept artwork is very good.
The site itself seems fine. Although the Flash used seems almost superfluous. I think HTML would work just as well here. Oh yeah, there's a few spelling errors in there too.
One other thing, why is the home button all on it's own up on the left? Surely it belongs in the main navigation section? Would make the nav more consistent if it was with the other buttons.
Just a few minor niggles there. Otherwise, keep on rocking...

im not sure about the about gallery links and freelance buttons. once i roll over, and they move down, i move down to click them, but thats not where u click. it just doesnt seem right clicking on nothing.

hi, thanks for the suggestions.
i've now fixed the buttons so that you can now click on the text!
and the logo now doubles as a home button.
the menu is now the exact colour of the bg, rather than a pastel version.
the scroll bar now looks more 'in' with the rest of the site.
spelling mistakes have all (hopefully) been corrected.
...anything else?
