    Object Help

    HI People
I was wondering if someone could help me.
Im trying to create a particular object in Swift3D, it’s a tube with a diagonal end, see pic below

Can anyone help? Should I use a Lathe or import from illustrator? Anything would be great

    Cheers

I know that seems like an easy enough object to create, but it's not something you can do with Swift3D. That looks like a job for a boolean operation, but that is not something that is supported in the current build of Swift3D. It's a feature that many people have asked for though, so we're hoping erain adds it to the next release.

You will need the latest build of the standalone version of Swift3D to open Nitro's file. The 3DS plugin won't be involved in the process.

That looks good. What is it? Part of an exhaust pipe? A weapon of some kind? A rifle scope?

I think its hard to tell what it is ( even tho its a great model for a starter ) because there is nothing to reference it's size to

You have to admit it would make a good rifle scope...

It makes a perfectly good Lightsaber as well. I think you just need to give people some kind of a clue as to it's purpose.

Had a go at trying to make your shape in Swift 3D. Even thought it can't really be done properly... This was the best I could achieve using the extrusion editor.

Download the .t3d from the link I provided and you will see that the cylinder is made up of many extrusions. You can see the segmentation in the image above, however when applied to a lightsaber (excuse my saber skills, I am not as into Star Wars as you) you will not really see the segmentation as in the image below.
