    "Throwing" a movie clip.

    I have a problem.
I have an interactive part of my movie where the user sees a picture of an arm [which follows their mouse on the x-axis only], and when they press a button the object [a movie clip] in the hand is thrown.
I have objects moving in front of this arm which can be hit or missed, are there any suggestions on how I could accomplish this?

Right now I am just stuck on getting the arm to only follow on the x-axis, and only within a set boundary [width of the movie].

Any help concerning this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Todd

try the tuts on www.bit-101.com dealing with gravity, inertia - you could possibly adapt it to what you are doing, if I read your question right.
