Font rendering problem - didn't used to do this!

I have a font rendering problem. Using Flash 5 (I know, I need to upgrade!). Font is Papyrus (TTF). It used to render fine. Not sure, but I think this started happening only on XP. Now, some letters are filled in (NO - it's not a small font size - it is 14pt.). This only seems to happen on the bold text. Not all the letters (with holes) are filling in. Has anyone seen this. It stinks because I need to make some changes to my swfs, but when I re-publish, it screws up the fonts! Please help...
    Thanks,

    Can't say
I've got flash 5 not the font.

When all else fails you could insert the text
into a bitmap image then import the image
    (gif) into flash.

There are some issues with some characters filling in in some Flash versions, (usually before 2004). Usually this applies to pixel fonts, however, it seems that it can also happen with 'regular' fonts. It also depends whether you're on MAC or PC.

Usually if the character fills, it's a problem with the design of the font and not much can be done about it, other than the workaround provided by Frets.

Did you ever resolve this? If so, how did you end up fixing it? Just use a gif? I have the same problem with Flash MX.
