    "Bugs/Flaws" in Wildform Flix Pro

    Hi,

I've recently purchaced Wildform Flix Pro and must say i'm very pleased with what i can do with it. In my experience of using it (about 2 months) i have encountered a few problems i'd like to report.

I'm Running Wildform Flix Pro 3.201 on Windows XP Home Edition, Quicktime 6.4 and WMP 9.

    Below a list of problems/bugs i've encountered

1 When doing a batch process whatever you set under Video, Video Filters, Use Start/End time will not be taken along.
(Thus you cannot batch process a file at max 30s for instance)
2 Wildform freezes for certain WMV files when quality is set > 56k (ie 128) (Flash MX Video / FLV Video Preset)
3 When changing to another movie, all settings are remembered except the set lenght of a movie (Video, Video Filters, Use Start/End time)
4 When setting "Load SWF after movie complete" and changing to a diffrent quality this is unset
5 When selecting diffrent quality, the set SWF height/width is cleared out
6 When selecting diffrent quality, the set lenght isn't remembered (Video, Video Filters, Use Start/End time)
7 When Wildform hangs on a WMV and you cancel the encoding process,
any other movie you start converting makes it crash.
8 When untabbing "Export Audio", most WMV movies won't convert (Freezes process, pressing cancel results to 7).
9 When setting the quality of the sound for 128k+ (Flash MX Video / FLV Video Preset)
to 11056hz and bitrate at 8bit, almost no WMV make Wildform Freeze.
(So its most likely audio related?)
10 An option to save the batch process list would be nice (As i have to recreate the whole batch list if Wildform
hangs on a WMV, because of 7)

I hope this helps a bit, i'd really love to see these things solved as i truelly feel this is a great program. Let me know if you need any more information.

    Cincerely,

    Ivo Teel

    Hi.
    1. Regarding the features that are not available during batch, at the time we did not think that the edit and crop features in the edit, crop, filters window would be desirable for batch so we disabled them. The filters do work with batch however. Adding support for the editing and cropping features in batch is on the list for the next version.
    2. I'm not sure why you are having problems with certain .wmv files. I would suggest you contact technical support at www.wildform.com/support and if possible zip up some problem files with the settings that cause problems and post them for the support team to download.
    3. Again we did not think that those features would be desired for a new file. We may change this in the next version. For now, you can save the settings you want in a Flix settings file (File>Save Settings as) to bring back your filter settings.
4/5/6. I'll add the request to maintain settings through quality changes to the list for the next update.
    7. Again, I'm not sure why that is happening. Put that information in your email to tech support.
    8. I can't replicate that. How were your .wmv files created? Again, put that information with sample wmv files in your support information.
    9. Sounds like all your .wmv file issues are related.
    10. You can save the batch list using the Flix .flx settings files (File>Save settings as).
