How to download and install fonts?

I try downloading the many fonts online that I found by using FK but having a problem.

I believe I'm downloading them right, but how do I actually get the new font downloaded to open up in flash. I try importing it but it just isn't working. I unzipped the file or whatever and when I open it I just get the quick brown fox sentence in a window. I can't get it actually in flash or firework to use.

BTW should I be able to use these fonts in firework also?

It's been quite a while since I've installed fonts 'normally', but you should be able to just copy the font into your C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder to install it. You can also use some kind of font manager. I use Bitstream Font Navigator that came with Corel DRAW. It allows you to install/uninstall fonts at will.

And yes, once you get the font installed you can use it in whatever application you want.
