Sliding vert. menu system

Greetings O Flash people!

I am creating a menu system that is a little out of my coding league and wondered if I could pick someones brain over an issue?

I have a vertical nav/menu system which consists of 5 buttons, what I want to happen is:

when you click on a button the other buttons below it shift downwards and reveal a short statement about that button I have clicked.

When you click on the same button or any other the other buttons the menu 'springs ' back up and then opens the required button you clicked.

I would like to do this all as script with a 'sliding' effect on the menu drop downs

I hope I have made myself clear enough, and would apprieciate anyones input, tuts, flas
