    components and preloaders

    Hello,

So I'm finding that if I use any sort of components in my projects I have the following problem.

Lets say I'm using a few scoll pane components.

My preloader won't show up until most of the piece has already loaded....this is because the components automatically load into the first frame of the movie regardless of where they are placed on the timeline....... Flash help says to uncheck "export in first frame" in the MC properties, but then the scroll pane simply does not work at all.....

    What can be done?

    Use this workaround...

Or, if you have the patience (and don't miss any) to uncheck every export on the first frame bit, simply drag a copy of your component off-stage or in unseen frames between your preloader and the actual start of your movie.

Also note that any other export on the first frame, like attached movie clips or sounds and embedding fonts, will have the same effect on your preloader.
