    ARM processor speed vs. Xscale

how do ARM processors speeds compare to Xscale processor.

For example many of the Sony Clie devices have 200mhz processors (I assume these are ARM) whereas many of the PocketPC devices have XScale.

How would a 200mhz ARM processor compare to 400mhz XScale?

well, to answer my own question, XScale is an ARM compliant processor, ARM11.

the sony devices use sony's own ARM processor the most recent being ARM9 series.

    device speed

that depends on many factors for example chipdesign, features, online-offline mode, sound on/off, display, accelerators, os, bt manager and and and @ same cpu

a xscale cpu and the "windows emulator" (PPC2002) works ultraslow.

i published this online flashbenchmarktest on flashmobile.de/mobile @ services (f6) ...please add your flashmark, os and mobile device on board..thanx

    other devices soon..sonic
