making flash effects
how do you create an effect that would flash like a certain part of a car...like for example a hood but not the whole care etc etc.

i have three books but non of them go into details about how to accomplish this.

also how do you accomplish the outline glimmer such as found on the woman on hte far right in this example.

the effect.fla worked for me. basically it's just a mask with a gradient. when you do your gradient, (trasparent-white-transparent) make sure that you're doing 0% of white (255,255,255) not black (0,0,0) or you'll have a gray gradient. hope this makes sense.
