    Tracing an image

    Hi,

    would like to know how to create an image trace eg. to outline an image showing the outlining animation.

    First, paste your image onto the stage.
    Create a new layer above it.
    Completely trace the image with your outline.
    Now, create a mask layer above your outline, "masking" the outline layer.
    Here's where the fun part comes in...
    take your paintbrush tool and paint over a small portion of the outline. Add a keyframe to the mask layer, and paint a little more (you will also need to lengthen the frames of the outline layer beneath it to keep it visible to you). Add another keyframe and paint a little more.
    Repeat this process until the entire image is painted over.
    Now, when the layers are locked and published, you will get the animated outline effect.

    I tried it but still don't really understand... is there anyone that can somewhow show me an example of how to do it? a small example?

    how long did that take you? thanks alot that did clear up lots... but i dont think i will ever create one as nice as yours! hehehe thanks anyways....
