FLV files Larger than QT !!!!!
Flix Pro files are consistently coming out larger in file size using FLV exporting than the original QT mov files [default to 300 medium output] by several megabytes, AND Flix output files are consistently larger than comparable output files [ to 56k or 128k,e.g.] than when output directly from QuickTime or using Cleaner 6. What the heck is the problem here?
Also, I have not been able to use Flix Pro for sound output in modem speed files because no matter what setting I use all I get is WHITE noise, screeching from the files.... It works fine for sounds with medium broadband output.

Hi.
FLV output is using uncompressed audio - that's why the size is larger. You can use the SWF output which uses .mp3 audio for smaller file size.
I don't know why you are getting a screeching noise, but it sounds like there is a conflict between the audio settings of the source video, the output .flv and/or the settings you are using in Macromedia Flash if you are importing the files into Flash.

The files I received were originally mpeg files from Windows output. I had to demux the files in order to extract the audio [mp2]. I then converted to mp3 in iTunes put the video extract and the audio mp3 file together again in iMove and reblended them for a QT mov as one file. I used the mov file for an export to 56k in Flix but found it was unusable because of the sound files. I ended up using Cleaner 6 which did a fine job with a smaller file.
However, it would be nice if FLIX was able to compress audio. What is the advantage of the program if it can't? I guess creating vector files is worth it, but the use is limited. For the web, the smaller files the better.

Hi.
The SWF output uses compressed .mp3 audio and you can bring those into Flash using LoadMovie.
When the current version of Flix came out you could not play FLV files in the Flash player - the FLV files were for importing into Flash only. So uncompressed audio was more desirable because the audio would be compressed again when exporting from Flash.
The next build of Flix will offer FLV's with .mp3 audio.
