Screenblast Movie Studio Export to SWF

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum - so moderators, I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place.

I have Sony's Screenblast Movie Studio (formerly, Sonic's Video Factory). The software ships with Wildform's code to render output to a SWF file.

Is there something in this template that prevents a rendered SWF file from looping? I have the latest IE plugin from macromedia (ver 7), and even with the option set to loop, the file simply plays from start to finish, then ends.

    Any input appreciated.

    Hi.
There is a stop action on the last frame.
If you want to add a loop action to a .swf you can check out our software Linx which imports any .swf and automatically adds many .swf actions and functions, such as looping, links, preloaders, etc.

    Screenblast Movie Studio Loop

Thanks Jonathan. The only thing I want the file to do is loop when inserted on a web page... According to macromedia, looping occurs by default unless programming specifically prevents it.

The looping can be disabled with HTML, but cannot be enabled if the file itself is stopping it. Purchasing a $30 program simply to get this default functionality seems a bit steep, especially when I believed I had already purchased that functionality in MS. Short of purchasing yet another piece of software, is there any way to get the file to loop in a web page?

The vast majority of people do not want their videos to loop infinitely. That is why our software defaults to playing a file once.
We don't make Sony Screenblast. We only provided the Flash video codec that they are using and we provided it to the specifications they requested.
Without using another piece of software, such as Linx, or Macromedia Flash, you will not be able to make a .swf file loop.

    Loop

Thanks again Johathan - your replies have helped ensure I don't pull any more hairs out tonight!

I find the decision not to loop interesting. Although I do not have the exact link in front of me at the moment, the Macromedia site indicates that looping of flash files happens by default, as that was what their developers requested.

The macromedia plugin allows a user or web page programmer to decide whether or not to deactivate the looping feature... Why hard code something that is so easily disabled by those who might wish it?

Screenblast Movie Studio is a great little package, and although my primary reasons for using it are NOT flash, the fact that it supported it via the Wildform codec helped clinched the deal. I have to say that, with the looping feature disabled, the value of the Wildform codec is virtually eliminated.

Again, I sincerely appreciate your prompt replies, just a bit disappointed in your revelations.. )

Sorry it's not working for you.
Most Flash files are not designed to loop infinitely.
SWF files played in sprites, which are a part of the .swf format, loop infinitely.
