    Loading External swfs

    Hello,

    If I import a video clip and export it as it's own .swf, is it possible for me to load this swf from another swf? If so, how is this done and how do I control the position where it loads?

    Cheers,
    Mike

    You need to create an empty Movie Clip symbol and place it somewhere on your stage(depending on where you want it to load). Give it an instance name. Depending on how you want it to load (by button, or automatically) you're going to insert this script:

    If it's by Button:
    on(press){
    _root.instancename.loadMovie("filename.swf");
    }

    If it's automatically(input to a frame):
    _root.instancename.loadMovie("filename.swf");
    }

    Just go back and change the instance name and the file name. You should be set.

    Thanks for the reply!

    Would this be the best way to display a .mov video clip, by exporting it as its own .swf and loading it this way into a main .swf?

    Cheers...

    If the video clip is rather large, and you're offering other stuff in this movie, then making it a seperate external .swf might be a good idea, if some users don't want to have a look at it.
    But if that the main thing in your movie, then might as well just embed it in a movie clip and have this movie clip in your main movie.
