importing models

can i import a half-life model with the animations into swift 3d? or does it have to be without? ive done that tutorial but i'd rather have some animations with it

well, if it works in version 2.0, it will work in 3.0 as well. However, if you want animation, one way to do it would be to export the animation as a *.3ds file from the program that can read those types of files - *.mdl, right?
I'm not too sure, but some people were talking about using gMax - which is free from discreet, and made for games - and exporting out, but I don't think that it does *.3ds export.
I've never used MilkShape 3D for longer than a few minutes, but I believe they have support for exporting to *.3ds. So, you can animated your file, export the *.3ds, and then open that into Swift3D.
worth a try.
but I do like the output of this using an animated model. But it is using Director/Shockwave.
