India-Pak ODI -1 - in the end a fantastic game of ket

I am posting after a fairly long time!

And what brings me back is not Flash and its related fancies, but cricket....

The first game was won by India... and a fantastic game trust me!

With the emotions running to high.. I guess it will be taken with a pinch of salt... but it was entertainment at its best....

    bitten all my nails!

    don't what more to type...hehe
    Cheers,

To get anywhere near 349 runs was an achievement, but a 6 off the last ball is a lot to ask, even if your not facing Trevor Chappel. A pointless question, but what do you think would have happened had Nehra bowled underarm on the last ball?

    Hey!

Javed Miandad(pakistan, now the team coach) had hit a last ball six to win the sharjah cup in 1989 (not sure about the year)... the finals were between india and pakistan!

so you can expect anything of these people!

Well.. he didnt bowl an under arm bowl... so why imagine what could have happened... cricket is such a 'foonny' game (as Geoffrey Boycott always says)

hi i had the pleasure of being at the game and i can tell you the atmosphere was electric.

there were a few thousand indian fans in the crowd and the diffrence in support was quite noticable when pakistan lost wickets - silence almost.

there was no crowd trouble at all in the groud and no reports of it in karachi before i left for islamabad, so far so good.

i have been at hundreds of odi's and this one was one of he most tense ever, who really expected pakistan to get so close? i only their first five overs had been tighter when they bowled.

as a side bar, on the underarm thing, i think the icc have made it illegal, but i will check and post again.

i am certainly looking forward to the rest of the series, and then the tests, and i'm being paid to go to them, even better!!

    peace and love

Starchie, you've got my dream job, being paid to watch cricket! I think you're right, too, the underarm ball was banned, not sure how or when, though.
I've been watching England v W. Indies, only on TV, and it looks like it might be a close series. I just hope we get to see Flintoff in full cry with the bat sometime.

Guys Guys......whatever u say. This match should not have been so close for india.
It was too close for comfort as ganguly said after the match.
If pakistan would have won this match, it would have been really really hard for india to win any more matches in the series.
But never the less, it was a great match. And a great fight by pak.

and the tables turn in Pindi...

a great chase again, and i still don't agree with Ian Healy that the stumping was legal, but then he is a wicket keeper, but when the umpire's finger goes up...

    heres to Peshwar

    What say guys?

What do u think would be the outcome of the peshwar match?

Well, for one its sure that it is again going to be another high scoring game as triple centuries have been scored there. So, another graveyard for bowlers.

And once again the team batting first is gonna win.

Since being an indian, hope india wins. But as a cricket fan, let the best team win.
