    With or without sun?

    Hi Guys!

Working on a new flash site and I need some professional opinions. My partner says lose the sun and lose the music. I'd like to keep them in...so I turn to you guys...let's see what you have to say.
    Please vote for two things:

    1. Do I keep the sun?
    2. Do I keep the music?

    the link:

    Thanks a bunch!

well.. i hate the sun very ugly and strange, but when i clicked it the following animation was damn cool. i cant judge the speed or anything since my pc is being a bit buggy, but i really like how the entire site is on a computer monitor. Your music is odd. not sure on the music. maybe try another track that i can hear?
    i love you..

go ahead and keep the music.
    lose the sun.
i think it is a waste of bandwidth to put something in that does not feel like it should belong.
it is literally a huge flaming ball of hydrogen, and i do not think the moniters with clouds rolling by really need one of those to make them flip and turn...

haha, maybe you two were meant to be...

Thanks for the quick response. My original design didn't include a sun but it was added at a later stage. I like how the clouds reflect in it and I like how it boils...maybe I could incorporate it somewhere else, perhaps on a sub-page?

i mean i could be wrong, it's just that i thought that the moniters and clouds and the boiling sun were two totally different themes and that perhaps it would be more effective to use them separately...

because obviously a lot of effort went into both, don't want any hard work gone because of some 16 year old kid...

I think you should lose the sun although the animation on it is very cool. It just seems out of place.

I really like the sun, but it doesn't seem to tie into the cool feel of this site.

Also the text on the products and services is hard to read

And the transition of the text to the Web Design page and the quote request is a bit sudden doesn't seem as smooth as the other effects on this site. I think it would look better as a straight fade without the white in between. I really liked the way that the portfolio works!!!

And the image of the sky gets really pixelated when the screen zooms in. Noticed that on the first transition.

    Really nice effect though!

    Excellent piece of work.

The monitors and the sun are two different themes...I tried to tie them together with the sun rays and the reflecting clouds in the sun. But I agree that it may seem out of place...but is that good or bad?

Roxanne, thanks for your other comments.
I noticed the pixelation on the clouds as well...it's a result of scale a small image 500%...some distortion will occur. It happened fast enough that i was willing to live with it.

Thanks for all of your comments!

Oh, and roxanne, you didn't mention anything about the music.

    Here's a screenshot of comparison

    Without SUN:

    With SUN:

Still a good idea to see it in motion at http://www.daynetworks.com/index2.html

I would agree with the others, the sun is out of place. I saw a navigation, so I didn't even know you had to click it until reading this forum.

I would use something more related/creative with the monitors.. maybe a keyboard or a mouse that would initialize the navigation.

Music is fine, and the animation is great!

I agree with just about everyone else. Lose the sun. It's cool, just not with the awesome graphics already going on. It really takes away from the monitors. Music is ok, really there isn't anything wrong with it. But the music is not as nice as the rest of the site. I would leave the music in place and be on the look out for something better.

Okay, thanks a lot guys. Now I have a direction on how to proceed. I'll lose the sun...and perhaps the music will be the next to go.

    Thanks again

OK, my view is to lose the sun...

It messes with the aesthetic of the page (and colour scheme)...
    and uses bandwidth...

I like the electronica music, it really works I think. But maybe compress it a bit more, as it was cutting out on me...
But saying that, I am still in the dark ages and still use 56K dial up...

    Take care,
