Really cool navigation and options panel. The movie and background don't flush well though. Although the idea of the grunge background is cool, it seems a little bit too plain for it to strike an impact.

cool, thanks for the reply's.
Yeah i think i need something different on the right side of the bar. I wasn't sure about the light switching on or off, i think it looks a bit tacky but i don't know really what to put there instead

Took me a while to figure out what to do and how to work the site. Maybe make it not so blind and give the user an area to click that is easily identifiable.
Nice transitions and layout, I love the pixely goodness mixed with some smooth shapes. Well done.
It must be obvious day at camp stupid

not a fan of the 'dancing' navigation, distracts from the site... all I want to do is stop it!
suggestion, when you click a section, assuming it will have content, have it display the first item of content so that you acutally know something is loaded. I couldn't figure out the nav (the little boxes) at first.

creative yes, but at first glance, its hard on the eyes. im sorry i just didnt like what i saw. bg picture is jagged, and while im pretty sure thats how u wanted it, i believe u could make it a bit nicer. My guess is you used the trace bitmap feature to give it that "minimal" look. Photoshop could have done a much more clean "grungy" effect. IM just assuming things so dont take what i say to heart.
ok, as far as the way the site's color scheme is predominantly grey, the rainbow border looked cool around it. I think its a pretty clever idea. the navigation is a bit tricky but once I figured it out, played around with the links and i ahve to say i love that transition where the content comes from the top and bottom. that was neat. Very nice indeed.
My overall opinion is sort of biased since i value design just as much as a value functionality, but i believe it to be a good second draft that could be much better in the final stage. hope i gathered somthing from this and good luck with your design.

I'm not a big fan of the "pixel effect" im seeing in alot of websites. And I agree that the navigation is far too "clever" for its own good. Not particularly intuitive. Sometimes design gets in the way of funtionality and I do believe this is one of those times.

I like how the menu swings back and forth underneath too. The music loop is a little small though and interesting choices of music for a .au site

ok thanks for all the reply's, what i think i need to do now is create a much more user friendly interface. Like pop-ups that demonstrate how to navigate the site. Also might include some help man.
The comments on the pixel based look and the jagged look is nothing to do with me wanting that. The .png compression is creating that effect, the files were all created in photoshop. I didn't want people waiting for my site to load so that the image could be a little more crisp, but if thats what people want...
Thankyou, i'll keep working on it and keep posting.
Cheers mate.

the friendly canadian
Again, I'm gonna have to go with everyone else in saying that I think the navigation was hard to decipher. Something a little more user friendly could go a long way. Otherwise, impressive site and good use of the Flash technology.

ok you've probably noticed that if you are reading this post after going to the site, the site hasn't changed.
Thats because my stupid server is taking ages to refresh the damn thing.
Anyway i wanted to know if the web site runs choppy on your computer, i'll add a fps counter soon.
If you could tell me your computer specs and the condition the site runs in that would be great. I've been looking at the site from an eMac (total crap) and it runs really bad.
And another thing if its not to much trouble, i'm currently at uni and i have an assignment that requires me to do a seminar on the Internet, the good the bad and the ugly. Post what your opinions are on the Internet, what you think is bad, what you like and don't like. Links would be fantastic.
Cool, see ya

not bad, but the transitions are slow and annoying after awhile, not a site i would want 2 go to again and again!
Cheers!
