Any where you can get just the words to a song ?
'ning all,
I got GarageBand yesterday for my iBook (very nice piece of software - how many samples!?!?), anyway I just wanted to know if there's a place where you can get just the words to a song without the beat/music in the background. Of course I'd pay for these, I just want to try my hand at mixing the song.
Any such place ?
Thanks :P

Yeh, i also would like to know where to get these - I met this freestyle rapper who wants me to make some beats for him and he referred to just the lyrics with no music as something, can't remember what it was though :S :P

Because it's not all one word...
It's like A' capella or something...
I'll ask my sister later, she studies music...
She suprised me the other day by refering to the golden ratio (1x1.618...) and the Fibinaichi sequence...

I thought it was called the divine proportion?...
It's 'A Capella', Italian for 'in the chapel'. Usually it contains vocals for the tune and percussion as well as just lyrics, so I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

Anything. Anytime. Anywhere.
Unless you have the original 2" multitrack tape [or these days, original .wav file on a HHD] I doubt you will find just single vocal track.
And not many "singers" use a single vocal track these days, sound engineers have a technique called "comp'ing" they record MANY MANY [10 - 20 maybe] vocal takes of the same song, and mix all those tracks into one track. You can hear it plain as day if you watch MTV or listen to pop radio, and listen for it. Usually the chorus is heavily comp'ed.
