    test my site please

Hey everyone. I just wanted to see if I could get some of you to hit a site I just rebuit. Mostly HTML but it has small pieces of flash. I need to know how the speed is and if there are any problems that I missed. It is still somewhat of a work in progress. Thx in advance.

You've done a nice job. I usually get annoyed when people post HTML sites, mostly because I still don't know much about HTML. Here's my humble list of suggestions:

I have a dail-up connection, so one thing I like to see is a preloader on Flash conent. It looks better than an empty space, even if it isn't animated.

The Flash movies that work best on your site are the ones that have the body text underneath the movie, and the blue box of questions alongside the movie. On the home page, where the body text is alongside the movie, it's as if they are competing for attention, and makes the movie seem distracting (when it actually looks quite nice).

Also, those blue boxes with the questions in them should do at least one of the following: 1)Be clearly marked as links that lead away from your site, 2)Open the new site in a smaller pop-up window, 3) Not lead away from your site at all, but simply show a quote lifted from that site. At the end, you can have a link that reads, "for origional article visit..."

    Thanks.

I assume that you are using Netscape? I know they don't bring up the little hand when you mouse over them in NS. Haven't figured that problem out yet but I had to get this site launched because the old one that was outsourced was 100% flash and we were getting killed by everyone else on the search engines. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this JS issue?

On the swfs, I didn't think about preloaders-that is a great idea! You mentioned the ones with body text under them working better, I'm guessing you mean faster. That is most likly because of the difference in size.

If I remember corectly, the links in the blue boxes that have our content open in that page but the ones that go offsite open in another window. I'll have to double check.

    Thanks for the input.

Sorry, I meant to clarify that remark. When I say they "work" better, I just mean that from a layout point of view, its less confusing to the eye.
