    [Disc] Halo Flash Game...

I'm working on a 'Halo Flash Game' over at http://343gs.com, which is basically to try and create a game in Flash about the Video Game, Halo. The Project has been going for quite a while now and I hope to have it competed by Summer 04. There is a playable demo availible here:

Please remember the game is still in heavy development, and bare in mind that It's just me working on it and I'm only 15. I've been working with Flash for a few years now, but still only know basic Actionscript. I'm in need of some feedback, what do you think so far?

    Hey bluestone,
That's a pretty impressive recreation of Halo. I have a few questions for you. Did you create all the graphics from scratch, or did you use existing 3d models, and convert them to vectors? I'm just wondering how you did the Pelican Drop Ship on the intro.

If you did take them from the original 3d models, I would like to get a hold of a Warthog 3d Model which I am trying to incorporate into my racing game. I would also like to use the Warthog model for my next project: A Halo Isometric Multiplayer Game. If you, or anyone in the 343GS community can help me get a Warthog 3D Model, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a bunch!

I've got a few places you can get hold of some 3d Stuff. If you take a look around www.turbosquid.com there are some 3d Models that go into 3DS Max, for example Vechiles etc.

Bungie.net contains some 3D Fly-around Quicktime movies, but they may not be on the new site.

As for your question, the graphics in the game are drawn and animated by me. The actual grunts and jackals were drawn from actual images. I drew the Pelican by copying it from images from the game. Thanks for your comments!

Hey Bluestone, thanks so much! You don't know how long I've been looking for this 3d Model. And best of all, the models were free! Anyway, keep working on your game, I would love to see the final version soon. Later...

I agree, however what you see online is just a Demo. The final game will be availible for Download as an exe

I think Flash gamers hate .exes. Downloading is always pain in the butt...

Try to make levels dynamically loadable. When the First level is loaded the Player can start playing the game. At the same time next levels start to load. The file size aren't getting any smaller, but the loading times are.

Hey! Nice looking game! Graphics where realy nice =)

Couple things you might look into though:

When the plane is flying in the intro, could you maybe have islands in the backgfround moving away, or somthing to give the plane a feal of movment... currently it just bobs up and down, wich is a bummer since the plane looks realy cool =)

Also, maybe i missed it, but i had a realy big gun, but it fired like a little girl =) I think it had 8 shots, and fired kinda slow... maybe a little tweeking of the clip size and fire rate?

Also, does your number name spell out Babes? Just curious =P right when i saw it flash up thats what i thought it spelled to i figured id ask =P

Well thats it i guess, great work on the game and i loveed the graphics/animations, ausome work there!

LOL, Babes, it says 343GS. Thanks for you comments, about the gun, they are all from either Halo 1 or 2, so I'm just re-creating waht I've seen or played whether they suck or not
