outlines for shapes
i made a shape with no outline, and now i need to give it one, but when i go to properties and try to give it one, it wont let me

you wont be able to add an outline with the properties window, since it only changes the color of the outline. To give your object an outline simply use the ink bottle tool on it (shortcut is 's')

sorry but im a bit confused on how to use it. do i click the color of the outline that i want and then click the shape?

make sure your shape isnt selected, then select the ink bottle tool, and click on the shape, and you should get an outline, which will be whatever color you have the outline color set to.
