    2 advanced

If any thinks this is 2advanced style, then where do we draw the line? If this is the case then why not just say all quality flash sites are 2advanced style! I've seen blatent ripoffs but seriously people not everything is 2advanced style. They do fantastic work & have a wide range of style but they don't own the web.

    ignoring 2a references

the dynamic preloader text hadnt been exported and hence looked crappy
the default-ish ripple in ae text effect has gotten old already.

    Same old

I have seen other sites use the color blue, what a rip

  9. #9
I know those basterds should know that 2advanced is the only company that can use the color blue on their site. Even now that they've changed to maroon no one can use that color either.
Doese this mean that Maroon 5 ripped 2advanced??? I'm sure some people in this forum might think so. After all this is a forum for cool sites but all I've seen lately are 2advanced ripps (or so everyone says) & "Im looking for a site..." posts!

I don't see any 2advanced style in this site. I only see flashlevel style. But anyway, talking about this site.

I think it looks good, there are a lot of little effects going on there. But one thing I really wanted to work was their portfolio. Which didn't. When that is working, I can really judge the site, at the moment it is slightly lacking.

    bunk. didn't even load...

I have a question... this will probably get some people all fired up but, what the hell!

WTF do you people (the, "Hey they ripped him off... people) even care if a site is ripped in the begining? It's not like your paying the bill, and as stylebandit says, "who cares..."

I have been checking in here at flashkit like many of you regularly, and I have to admit that the quality of sites has gone down hill drastically. I think it's time to restock the pond with fresh fish and get over all this finger pointing.

Let's admire and try to expand our OWN creative talents.

Can we not adapt the swearword filter to remove all posts with the words 2a and rip please, its getting rather tiresome.

    There's always one (still)

    Hi everyone,

For one reason or another i haven't had chance to visit Cool Sites flashkit for a L-O-N-G-L-O-N-G time. It really is a great place to pic up what top-end designers and talented newbies are up to.

    One thing tho'...

... I can't believe people are still bringing this old subject up!!!
Seriously! the subject "2A Rip-off" should be banned!

All i have to say is everybody is influenced by somebody - 2A influence a lot of people because they are a ridiculously talented bunch of chaps - but even they are influenced by people (gmunk springs to mind) but this doesn't mean that they are ripping everybody off. We all stand on the shoulders of those who we respect right?

This site is beautifully realized by someone who knows how to originate there own ideas.

    Rip-off? Get real!!!

it's true, but the content of this forum, like the others, depends on what members contribute to it and there are still a few who seem to think along those lines, why I don't know.

To me a rip is something that takes actual elements of a design and either reproduces them exactly or uses them wholesale in their own design.

Influence is a completely different thing, and I think is an essential part of the development of any designer. Trick is to be smart enough to eventually find your own register.

But I do think that the topic of copyright issues is important. This isn't the place to discuss them or rips but it is essential that anyone who wants to call themselves a designer does more than learn how to use flash and photoshop, understanding copyright for the web is just one of the many topics a good designer is aware of.

The number of people who I have seen asking why they can't search google for images and use them in their commercial designs, usually saying something like, "that's what google images search is for," is staggering to me.
