    Hi,

I don't have broadband so I'll only comment on what I saw.

    Hate to be a brute...
the color scheme doesn't work for me.
    very hard on the eyes.

Text needs a bit of clarity.
When every you have light color text on light color
bg the read gets rough. Depending on the size
a nice quick fix for larger fonts is an outline.

    Modify>group as shape
then apply a line color and size to make it stand out.

I liked the layout lines it was reminisent of Craig Kroeger's
    stuff (minmal).

I am on Cable and it took quite some time for it to open for me even! I agree about the colour. Blue is my favorite colour but this light blue is a bit hard on the eyes.

On the Journey, I clicked a couple of times on the pulsing eclipse before I realized the action was on the text instead.

The Gallery was great! I would brighten your photos up a bit in PS and I am assuming this is where your large file size is coming from so I would also use PS's "Save for the Web" feature to get the file size down on them. Also be sure you check JPEG compression in Swish instead of ZIP and there also you can put the compression to about 75-80 if you don't want to do it in PS. This should help a lot!

Those images you are using in the background are huge! and it seems that you have made this as one large file. Why don't you use sprites so you can call up what fotos you need and not have such a heavy initial file?

I think you have a great idea going here and with a few tweeks in your graphics you will have a great site here!

I like the font (especially in the friends section), the gallery transition effects between pictures, and the my journey page. I actually like the colors.

I have cable and everything seemed to load instantly. The only thing I didn't like was the transition length between pages. I had to sit and wait while switching from, for example, my gallery to friends. It wasn't the load time, it was just all the movement/effects that were going on. It's almost like a Transformer changing from one page to the other. Not a very clean switch from page to page.

thanks for the comments guys. Sorry about the colour but client liked it.

The site was done mainly in swish 2, then i got max, and started to learn more, like external loading etc i used what i then learnt from this to the diary mainly so the person only has to change the txt file, there is a guestbook in there to follow soon, and with the gallery, its prob the reason for the download time, but alot of people i know are having that much of a prob, but that depends on speed.

The more i learn abou max, he more i will get to update this site and improve on the problems.

    so thanks

ps sorry to cnfuse fogot details so log a new name sorry

Tried to revisit the site today, will not load. Are you currently doing maintainence on the site. If not, check your index.htm file.

ok! i have not worked on it for a while and in the middle of looking into adding a 2 more sections, replacing the html style external guestbook with a .swf one that i just now need to tart up, and a client only section which will just simply have some input sections with submit buttons that will allow the client to change the text in the diary and where ever else i hav external text etc etc with out worrying about teaching him the basics of a ftp program and the worries of uploading etc. I have worked this out just and will be having a look at introducing this as well , but this will be a second program/.swf so that one it does not increase file size and that he can link to some where else for this to happen. www.site.co.uk/update/index.htm or something in that sort of way?
i will also be looking into improving the menu system which if works wil also reduce the file size. as for the colour i might change this to something that will look nice and then sell it to him as a site refresh etc etc , a few pints should do it :-)

cheer dalan66 will keep intouch when doing things, appreciate your comments

    I would agree w/ most

I would go through and optimive all of your pictures, then if possible your shapes. then bump the fps to 25 and it should come in at 1/3 the size.
