    Loading check

Ok, now is your chance to get the Moderator! :-)

I had to put together a quick site for a Billiard Bar tonight and I need to know if it is loading ok. I am on cable so for me it loads instantly.

Any other comments are welcome also!

    Good loading time, Small Suggestion

I like the layout of the design, very clean, the load times are very quick. I am in NY Metro Area on DSL connection, pages were immediate.

Please do not get me wrong, I like the site, I would like to make 2 very small suggestions, and I hope it does not cause too much trouble for you to change (that is if you decide to make the changes of course.)

First, I really like the way that the 8 ball moves into the space occupied by the letter O. It would be great if you could actually have the number 8 dissapear as the ball rolls across the table. I know this sounds 'picky' but it would make a gigantic difference to all of us who enjoy the game of billiards. Also, rather than have the ball move about the table as it does in non linear movement, have the ball enter from the same point and just simply bank the ball off the top rail and into place in the letter O.

Lastly, you have what appears to be the metal break in the cue at the tip end right below the ferule, if possible, move that toward the middle of the cue as it should not break up the look of the cue.

So, move it closer to the tip so it becomes the ferule, or the piece that holds the tip in place, or slide it down to the middle of the cue.

Just two suggestions for an already wonderful site.

Thank you Dalan! I know nothing about Pool so your comments are very helpful to me. I will work on this in the next week.

    Thanks again!

I was reading my post again, and I realized that I used the word dissappear when talking about the number 8 on the 8 ball as it rolled accross the table. I probobly should have said have the number 8 rotate around the ball as the ball is rolling accross the table.

I am pretty sure you knew what I meant, I just get the feeling sometimes that if I am not clear, I can cause more harm than good.

    Sweet!

As I said before, it just did not feel right.
I hope it was not too much work.

I like the way the number 8 is off center when it rolls into the letter O.

Your lighting of the table is perfect, all you need now is a few old stogies shooting pool, smoking a few old stogies, and a neon sign that says "pool hall"...I will call a few of my friends and we can make side bets on the "Fatman"(Minnisota Fats), "Fast Eddie" (Eddie Felson) or "Big Willie" (Willie Mosconi). LOL! Thanks Dalan! I have to admit it looks better with your suggestions. I do have to change the pool stick inside still but I wanted to make sure that this was what you were talking about before I did the other one also.

Thanks again for the suggestions and taking the time to critique.

    My pleasure.

You know what they say, those that cannot do...critique.

I am working on my skillset though. I think I jumped ahead on design centric stuff, and need to add some of the basics to my repitoire.

It is funny though, I have been a member since 2000, but thought I did not have much to contribute, so I only had 3 posts, but in the last two months, it appears that my additional 50 or so posts have helped a few swishers work out some issues.

So, as I learn and progress, I hope to continue to bring some value to the flashkit collective.
