    September Desktops 2004

    Show us your 'tops.

Mine: My install of Windows has reached its half life - nearly 18 months old without reformat, new record. So it's crashed twice today (once in Notepad - yeah!) and it's annoying me. So whenever I get stressed, I just hit Windows+M

I'm using Litestep as a shell replacement, it allows for icons on the desktop, but you can't move or delete them very easily, so I decided not to have anything on the desktop. I think it's nice having it all nice and clean, saves on startup time as well. Plus, my start menu is just a right click away and it's well organised, so no need for desktop icons.

I really enjoy forgetting. When I first come to a place, I notice all the little details. I notice the way the sky looks. The color of white paper. The way people walk. Doorknobs. Everything. Then I get used to the place and I don't notice those things anymore. So only by forgetting can I see the place again as it really is.
