Hi,
generally what happens is that other mods see you around the place helping out and noticing your skills in dealing with other members, and then, if ever there is a need for a new mod, names are suggested in the team room and we meet some sort of general consensus on suitability.

So the only way really is to be invited.

No wonder i heard nothing after sending all those candy bars! Been so long this chat room look different, however always seems like this kinda thread pops up. I'm currently bored from Science and I normaly don't touch any political threads anymore for various reasons.

Anyway, I think in about two years when the LHC at Cern produced the first results we will have some interesting things to talk about and there's a near-death studie I hope will soon release their results, that could be really intersting as well (and highly controversial).

Great. I don't always speak but do check your threads almost religiously every couple months. When the bomb hit the comet not long ago it was funny to check the thread you started on that long ago, when we speculated what would happen. I have seen not all appreciate your threads, but some do.

So whats the colored dot all about?
