Try a a green with less (much less) contrast. As said above its hard to look at it for very long.

    OK Thanks everyone.
The site needs to be 'green' as the name suggests.

The related sites I've looked at aren't really that inspiring. I've been given http://www.greencleen.co.uk as a reference.

Personally, I quite like the layout (it's based on a GateCrasher flyer), but maybe it doesn't work at all with these colours as suggested.
Do you know any green sites that use a good green colour pallette?

I like the layout and animations but closed the browser because the bright green was hurting my eyes.

If I were you I would reduce the brightness of the colour. Dark green grass may work.

What about toning down the green, knocking out some stripes, and adding a background image? sommit like this

I think that it is still too green for my taste. A site that is somewhat related is http://www.wm.com. This is a waste management company that is located here in the US and Canada. The green that they have chosen is more pleasant to the eyes. Their site has a nice color scheme and a good layout. However, if your client has insisted on this color of green, I would advise him/her to change their mind. Yet, sometimes this is not possible. My cited reference has chosen a color of green that reminds me of the environment and nature. The color of green that you have chosen reminds me of young children using Crayola markers and crayons, the web in its early stages, and limes. No, insult is intended; but, European and American graphical design styles differ dramatically. If your client insists on using this color of green, then use it; they are only getting what they pay for.

No it doesn't. Nothing about the name says "make me all green". You are the designer so make educated decisions on the colors based on color rules and usability trends. It's very cliche to take a name like Green Cleen and just make the site green.

I have taken a screen shot of the site to make my suggestions.

Your right. Personally, I don't really like the colour green - it clashes with everything! Thanks v much for the annotaded gif also - I'm actually working on refining the main shape more as I'm liking it less+less. I think I might actually try sommit totally different - layout and colour.

    Hmmm?
