    Flash Popup Menus

I'm trying to make a customized popup menu.

I've already created the navigation bar as well as the menus. Now, I just want to know if it's possible to:

    1. Create a menu from images i've already created in Photoshop.
    and
    2. Do this menu if i've never used flash before in my life.

    Thanks!

    1. Yes
    2. Yes, but it may take you a while if you never worked with Flash before.

I would advice you to check the Getting Started section in the Tutorial here to get the basics of Flash first.

    Awesome! Thank you!

I tried doing it in javascript first, by using dreamweaver, but for some reason, it works for about a second, then it stops working :\.

I just wanted to know if I was trying something that was impossible.

Do you know of any tutorials for something like this. I like to think i'm a quick learner and i'm sorta impatient too

You can check ready made menus to see how they work. There are many kinds and Im not shure what you mean by a popup menu. Does it popup from nowhere in Flash or is it a popup browser window with a menu or? Anything is doable in Flash however.

Check the movies section here for options and source files. It is also searchable.

If you are doing rollOvers you should split ( slice ) up the menu in Photoshop before importing ( or pasting ) it into Flash.

Yeah, I mean a rollover menu. Like...you have a simple navigation bar, then when you rollover one part of it, it drops a new menu down. I was calling them popup menus because that's what it was called in dreamweaver with the javascript...and when I called them dropdown menus, people told me to use the code for the menus like the ones on this site where you choose which forum you want to jump to.

Anyway, i've already sliced the images. Just trying to figure out how to use this now.

    Thanks for your help.

If you search the Movies section use the term dropdown menu as thats what it is refered to here.

You will also find hundreds of posts regarding dropdown menus on this forum.
