Flash Player / Dynamic Content for Palm OS

Is there any Flash Player available for Palm OS in general. Yes SONY CLIE has it but can we install the same FlashLite1.1 to any other device which runs on Palm OS?
Is the loadVariable stuff possible with Palm OS players?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    1) there is no downloadable generic PalmOS player at this time. If and when it comes it will probably be Flash 5+ on handhelds, unless MM makes a deal with a Palm phone manufacturer then it might be FlashLite.

At this point in time, MM seems to be interested in licenses rather than freely available players. So its hard to say if we will ever get a freely available Flash player that works on any Palm device of a given specification.

    2) Sony CLIEs have a built in Flash 5 standalone player, not FlashLite.

    3) Any CLIE with Flash vers. 5,0,88,2 or greater has built in support for loadVariables and XML (use XML nitro for faster parsing than built in). This includes NX73V,NX80V,TG,UX and TH devices.

Earlier players did not support this, though Sony does offer a free player upgrade for older CLIES (NX60,NX70V,NZ90). The upgrade is/was available from Sony's web site.

You might use version detection to inform a user to upgrade their player to support your application, if these older devices are part of your audience.
