i understand the brand bit and all. but let's focus on the facts: the decision has been made whether I or u hate it, redskillet. I'm not the Business Development/Marketing chap here. I'm just a programmer who likes (and is not necessarily brilliant at) design. I'll consider any advice u giv me concerning the logo, but the bit about the colors is genuinely beyond my league.

    thanx,anyway

one thing you should remeber though is people always change there minds

this guy may say only use these exact shades of these exact colours

(if hes not saying that however, there are some much nicer shades of green blue and black you could be using)

but if you do something a hell of a lot better in other colours maybe using something a little subtler clients have been none to change there minds drastically

i had one person who told me not to redesign there logo as it was there to maintain the brand but then he spotted on idea i had come up with and straight away told me to scrap the old logo and go with the new one - that was totally different !

I agree on both. I think the first thing is to show the company what you could do best with their orginal and also throw out the idea of changing the brand slowly and show them what you got.

The thing to remember as well, some companies have done well using various version of their branding, so you could do something like that to test the brands with various markets.

I also agree on the fact that you need to complete the project as best you can on the requirements/timeframe they give you. Doing both should earn their trust. If you really want to go further you could create a survey and have them email it out to some of their clients with various ideas and get some feedback. It shows the customers they care about what they think, which really when you pin down Branding Philosophy that is what is all about, the logo is not the only part of the "brand".

the top one is getting there
i'm liking the way your dealing with the colours now
maybe do the square at the back with sharp edges morphing to the one at the front with rounded edges and they are not quite sitting right with the text yet
also why are you spreading the text of the word technologies so wide - its a big enough word as it is

it is not as strong or identifiable. Focus on the top one.

both are wonderful, the top one is my fav, really excellent look!

you are very talented and show great restraint (good thing).

I also agree that paper, lots of paper and a soft pencil are critical.

Definately put both those logos in your portfolio!

yeah i really like the top one of those 2. i like how you've incorporated the company colours. i think- make the 3 squares the same- all rounded edges. and maybe experement with different fonts, and i think you're almost there

stick to simple fonts i think, but i think maybe just something a little more ...interesting. something which is identifiable. not sure that makes sense.

but yeah i like your work.

i'm trying to convince them not to be conservative. they absolutely loved the slight modification of the original one. I wasnt for it,really and i'm fighting for them to change opinion coz of the responses i'm getting from u pple. a logo is soooo critical, it just cant be a mistake. it would be very expensive, tedious and confused to be changing logos like undees.

dont know how to convince them...might improve the ones u guys complemented an make them "see the light",so to speak
