testing preloader in MX 2004
I know that in MX, in order to test a preloader when testing movie, you must press ctrl-enter two times. In MX 2004, when you do that, it asks if you want to cancel the test movie. How do you test a preloader in the newest version of flash?
Thanks.

Huh, should be the same way. That's what I do to test my preloader in MX 2004.

Maybe check your keyboard shortcuts and see if something is amiss there. It's under the edit menu.

just tried it again.
it says are you sure you want to cancel?
I am lost here. I am using a trial version but I doubt that would do it.

how do you check keyboard shortcuts?

No, trial version should work the same. To check the keyboard shortcuts you go to edit>keyboard shortcuts... then click the arrow for the commands box, select "Test movie menu commands" click the plus sign next to view. You should see that cntrl+enter is next to simulate download. If not just remember the shortcut or change it. Usually comes as the default setting.

Looked through keyboard shortcuts, nothing seemed to be off. Can anyone else please help?

Ok, try this. Hit control enter once, while your movie plays go to the menu and click view/simulate download and see if it does the same thing.

That works, thank you.
I still can not hit ctrl enter twice, but if i just do it the way you said, it works. Thanks

No prob, glad it worked out. Did you notice if there was a shortcut listed next to the simulate download in the menu?

the keyboard shortcut is ctrl enter. if I wait for the movie to start then hit ctrl enter, that shortcut works.

Oh! Right, exactly. You have to wait for flash to finish exporting the preview then hit the shortcut. Just slow down on the trigger and your gold.
